Welcome!
Welcome to Lee Knight's website, NYU School of the Arts graduate and professional singer/keyboardist working in the Long Island/tri-state area. Lee is an active vendor for the New York City Dept. of Education, as well as Nassau, Suffolk & Westchester BOCES approved. If you'd like to know more about her other programs, see her page for her more formal programs. Her programs for children, called Books Alive, take storytime beyond the book—with singing, acting, dancing, and interactive play that gets children up and involved in their favorite children's stories.
About Books Alive
Picture your students singing & dancing on stage as their favorite books come alive through culturally diverse original music. Each song is performed as if it were a musical number in a show using props, costumes & puppets. Themes include Black History, Character Building, Take a Bite Out of Reading, Dinosaurs, Earth Day, Read Around the World, Royalty, Mystery, Presidents and famous authors such as Tomie dePaola, Eric Carle, Jan Brett, Laura Numeroff, Doreen Cronin, Marcus Pfister & Dr. Seuss. Children will experience the thrill of being on stage raising their level of confidence and self-esteem. Lee Knight's Interactive Concerts have been seen at schools, libraries and museums throughout New York. Pre-K through sixth grade.

Kids, teachers, and parents all love the program—in fact, even the authors of the stories have given praise—talents like Debbie Dadey, Jez Alborough, Stephanie Calmenson, and Robin Pulver, who congratulates Lee "on getting art and music back into the school system."
This website introduces you to the programs which Lee offers and gives you information on how to book her—no pun intended— for your school.
